Jess Godfrey Nothing compares to a quiet evening alone... The chestnut stallion whinnied as Jess clicked him into a trot. She moved into an easy working gait and her warm up began. What a welcome she had gotten when she came to Ireland. The only person that had been there were the office employee's and they had been less than animated. She thought about the fateful day several months ago when she had been on her way home from school and a boy pulled her aside and raped her. Jess' eyes felt moist as she pressed her heels into Terror's side and moved the stallion up into a canter. How much she had missed the stallions stride. What a fantasy it was to be riding again.
The stallion beneath her tugged at the reins in her gloved fingers, anxious to move quicker. She steadied the stallion before pushing him into a quicker canter, his stride maintaining its same comfort and rythm. Before Jess had lost her virginity at a party, she had been a student with perfect grades and a perfect behavior record and of course, perfect attendance. After this event, she frequently skipped school, didn't do homework, and got into fights. "What happened to the perfect Jess?" people wondered. If only they had known the girl behind the mask.
Jess pulled her stallion to a walk and stroked his chesnut neck and cooed to him quietly. She let her reins loosen and become loopy and let no tension be felt as she let her horse breath for a moment. She unzipped her sweatshirt and draped it over the fence as she passed it by and quickly let her stallion resume his walk break. She sighed and felt her eyes mist over; she missed having friends to ride with. Being alone in the ring made her uncomfortable and empty. Jess picked up the slack on the reins and her stallion instantly picked his head up and training was now foremost on both of their minds.

Blue eyes glued to a piece of paper as she read it slowly before she walked into the barn. Her eyes wandered up on a grey mare, looks like an Arabian. The mare's mane was slick and ran past her neck by an inch; her tail flowed to the ground as her body glittered in the dim light. Rain smiled as her meet eyes with the mare, she slowly walked over to the man holding the mare with a pink lead rope. He handed her the rope before he spook, "I need you to get my mare to drive into a canter without bucking. I'll leave her here for a few days. Her tack is over on there and all that goody good stuff. Thank you." The man spook fast and Rain had a hard time keeping up with him, so she just nodded and patted the mares forehead before she groomed and tacked the pretty little mare up.
She grabbed her helmet and whip and got on the mare. Then Rain kicked the mare softly on her sides making the grey go into a walk and out to the Indoor Arena, where she saw a girl riding this pretty bay like stallion. Rain smiled, glade to know that she wasn't alone in this big Arena, she slightly tapped the mares neck with her whip and she went right up to a smooth, slow trot. Her trot felt wonderful, Rain started to wander how her canter felt, but she wasn't ready to going into a bucking canter after this smooth trot, and she wouldn't know how this other girl’s horse would react to the bucking at first. So Rain took in a deep breath before she let it out in a sigh as she looked over at the girl and her horse, before looking foreword again. Rain turned the mare and trotted gracefully over to the girl and her stallion. She slowed the mare to a walk and watched them.
"Uhm...How does your stallion do with a bucking horse?" Rain asked as she patted the mare’s neck and started trotting the mare around again, she wandered if she could move sideways. Rain pushed on the mare’s right side and gently tapped the mare on her rump, but the grey mare did nothing but curls her neck and picks her head up. She blinked a few times and shrugged and then slowed her back down to her nice slow walk. No wonder they want to get her bucking out, she has such a graceful trot and a nice walk, her canter would feel like your flying slowly a cross the sky.
Rain stopped the mare when the grey tripped a little in her walk. She most be a little stiff, so she got off and picked up the mares front right leg and bent it, over and over again until it felt lose. She took the left leg and did the same, until it was lose. Rain got back on the mare and tapped her with the whip and the grey went into a trot without problems. The mare snorted a few times before her ears pinned against her skull. She went right to a stop and Rain wandered why, but she didn't take long thinking about that. Rain kicked her sides a few times before she tapped the mare’s neck; the grey snorted once more, shaking her head.
Rain whipped the mares rump, but not hard and she went back into her trot. Rain sighed before she turned the mare.

Jess Godfrey I'm livin' in a fantasy world... The girl kissed to her stallion and pressed him up into a trot as voices echoed up from the hallway. It was a girl and man who conversed outside of a stall about the workload of a horse, she guessed and relaxed her fingers around the reins. A girl who stood about 5' 7'' walked into the ring leading a beautiful Arabian looking mare. She was a sweet gray with easy muscles and looked like a trouble maker, yet sweet. Jess acknowledged the girl as she trotted by with a nod while the girl lept gracefully onto the mares back, and kept up her posting as Terror moved under her, smooth and steady. After months and months, even years, of un-willful training, this is what the result was, a horse with beautiful strides, flawless conformation, and a few bucking problems.
Uhm...How does your stallion do with a bucking horse? Jess shrugged and her lips parted to reply, Probably fine, he is well tempered. He might start bucking himself, though... Hey, your Rain Heart, right? she said and kept up her steady trot. She dropped her leg and tightened her back muscles to move down to a sitting trot. Her rear end moved rhythmically with Terror's trot as it stayed glued in the saddle. She sighed and after 2 and a half laps of gentle sitting trot, she reigned him back to a walk and let him have his head for a small break. Good boy, she murmured and pat his neck a few times.
She watched the girl as she tried to side step the mare and she refused. She smiled. Mares could be so stubborn sometimes. Her old mare, L'alie, was very stubborn. She sighed as her eyes flickered to watch Terror's ear swirl and rotate to rid of the Autumn's last few flies. She smelled the scent of horse and leather as she breathed in deeply, the smell of a rightful barn. Jess flexed her fingers in her gloves before picking up the reins and pressing her heels gently into his sides to collect his attention again. The stallion picked up his legs and Jess watched the girl dismount the gray and loosen her knees. Good idea... She must be a trainer, Jess thought as Terror's smooth movement continued below her. She moved him up into a steady canter and signaled the girl with a nod of her head to move the mare into a canter too.

Probably fine, he is well tempered. He might start bucking himself, though... Hey, your Rain Heart, right?
Rain looked over at the girl and nodded, "yes, that's me." She said as she looked at the girl as she nodded to have Rain got into that bucking canter. She clucked to the mare and whipped her rump, the mare bucked as she went into a canter, every minute or sooner she gave off a high buck or a low one. Rain pulled back on the reins, the mare curled her head and then shook her skull, tail flicked and she bucked, Rain whipped the grey mare on the neck when she bucked. The mare moved into a smooth canter when whipped, after a few minutes she bucked again and Rain did the same thing and whipped the mare again. She went down into a smooth canter; Rain smiled slightly as the mare stayed into the canter for a while and then acted up.
The grey jumped forward into a large buck, Rain huffed slightly as she kicked the mare and smacked her on the rump with the whip. The mare snorted and cantered smoothly once again, ears pinned against her skull and she threw her head up and down, until Rain shorted the reins then the mare stopped her head throwing and slowed down to a slower canter. Rain slowed her down to a trot and got her to pick up into a canter again. The mare bucked again and Rain whipped her, "stubborn." She mumbled to herself as she turned the mare and that’s when the mare went into a bucking riot. Rain got her to stop after a minute and she slowed her down to a walk. She took in a deep breath and padded the mare on the neck, she let the mare hang her head down and snort every now and then.
Rain stopped the mare and got off as she looked over at the girl. She watched her with her stallion, Rain smiled slightly as she looked back at the grey mare that lowered her head to sniff the ground and shake her head; Rain looked back to the girls.

Jess Godfrey My heart is working double time... Her eyes wandered to watch the mare buck over and over again as Rain pressed her up into a canter. Stubborn little girl... she said quietly as Terror walked evenly along. A sigh emmited her lips as her head rotated in a circle. She picked her horses head up with a gentle cluck and he knew it was work time again. She pressed her heels gently to his sides and his feet lifted into a gentle trot. Several strides later, her heels met his side again and he moved up into a canter. Her right rein moved up and down his neck, a gentle congratulations for being good and listening. Her eyes glanced down at his inside shoulder to check lead; his leading leg was correct. Good. Picking up the correct lead was not his strong suit.
The other girls mare was still acting up. She didn't know what advice she could give her, but did she really need any? She looked like a horse trainer. Bringing her attention back to her stallion, she watched Terror's eyes flicker to the bucking mare. Oh shit... she murmered as his hind end buckled. She immediatly shoved her heels into his side to keep him going. Jess smiled as his hind end relaxed but couldn't react quick enough to prevent a fatal buck. His hindquarters went flying into the air and Jess went flying out of the saddle. Her hand grabbed for the pommel and thankfully, Jess had a very strong grip.
